The working principle and structure of the new hub bearing sensor

1. Working principle

When the automobile is running at low and medium speeds, the newly high-resolution signal sensor can be used to detect the wheel speed with a precision 40 times higher than the original. It can detect the movement of a standard vehicle of only 1mm, so that the braking force can be controlled at the best timing when the vehicle is running.


The main purpose of ordinary wheel hub sensors is to control high-speed conditions, and low-resolution signals are often used to reduce the burden of data processing. The newly developed high-resolution signal sensor product can output two kinds of pulse signals of phase A and B. By observing the output of these pulses, it can detect whether the vehicle is moving forward or backward. It can be used to detect whether the vehicle is walking when the automobile starting on a ramp, and stopping automatically. Its working principle is to use the wheel speed sensor (installed on the fixed side) to detect the wheel speed signal in the circumferential direction, and then use the magnetic encoder (installed on the rotating side) to display alternately the magnetic pole changes of the magnetized N pole and S pole at the same interval. The wheel rotation signal is used to control the dynamic and static conditions of the vehicle. In this way, the rotation signal is reduced, and the resolution is improved, and the vehicle can be controlled more accurately. 


2. Structure

In view of the high resolution of the wheel hub sensor and the data processing is increased at high speeds, it is difficult to control accurately the vehicle, so an encoder with the function of switching signal resolution is added to. The magnetic encoder is embedded in the magnetic sensor. Compared with the original sensor using SNR (signal-to-noise ratio), the newly developed magnetic sensor with magnetic encoder detects wheel speed with up to 40 times the accuracy of the original sensor. It’s called "Wheel bearing with high resolution rotation sensor".


Because the new wheel hub bearing has a built-in rotation sensor that can switch the signal resolution in two levels, it is easier and more convenient to operate in terms of detecting vehicle speed and controlling ABS, and is safe and reliable.
