1. Features of rolling mill bearings

a. Rolling mill bearings carry heavy loads because of its poor working conditions and heavy load, the roller contact with the raceway are in line or offline contact, under heavy load and impact load. The friction coefficient is small, and the limit speed is close to the requirements of deep groove ball bearings when running at high-speed.

b. Rolling mill bearings can be moved in the corresponding axial direction. In order to adapt to change of relative position between the shaft and the housing caused by thermal expansion or installation errors, it can also be used for free end support.

c. Rolling mill bearings have high requirements for the processing of shaft or seat hole. So the relative deviation of the outer ring axis should be strictly controlled after bearing installation, to avoid contact stress concentration.

d. For easy assembly and disassembly, the bearing is separable type of inner ring or outer ring.

e. Ordinary bearings generally use steel plate stamping cages, bearing which requires high-speed or smooth operation, and imported bearings use solid cages. Glass fiber and reinforced nylon cages can also be designed and supplied according to on-site use effect and user requirements.

2. Maintenance, overhaul and disposal of abnormal situation of rolling mill bearings

a. In order to ensure the original function of the bearing and maintain good working condition, the bearing must be overhauled and maintained on schedule to prevent potential hidden dangers and ensure the reliable operation of the bearing with the maximum economic output ratio.

b. As necessary maintenance matters in bearing operation, it includes rotating noise, vibration, temperature rise, lubricant form, etc.

c. Bearing maintenance is best carried out before the operation of the machine, according to the specifications, check the running status regularly, and add or replace lubricants as required.
