Supplementary code Suffix meaning of SKF bearing

The suffix of SKF bearing designation typesis used to indicate a variant that have different structures and/or other characteristics from the basic design. When it is necessary to express more than one bearing characteristic, the suffix is regularly divided into several groups.

A: The internal design has been improved or slightly changed. The dimensions are the same. Usually have different meanings for different types or series of SKF bearings. For example: 4210 A: indicates a double- row deep groove ball bearing without a filling ball notch; 3220 A indicates a double row angular contact ball bearing with a contact angle of 30°.

AC: Single row angular contact ball bearing with a contact angle of 25°

ADA: The stop groove on the outer ring has been improved, and the split inner ring is fixed by a fixed ring.

B: An improved or slightly changed internal design, the same external dimensions, usually has different meanings for different types or series of SKF bearings. For example: 7224 B represents a single row angular contact ball bearing with a contact angle of 40°; 32210 B represents a tapered roller bearing with larger contact angles.

Bxx(x): B is combined with a two-digit or three-digit number to indicate some variants without a suitable suffix.

For example: B20: narrowed width tolerance

C: An bearing has been improved or slightly altered interior designbut boundary dimensions are the same. It usually has different meanings for different types or series of bearings. For example: 21306 C stands for spherical roller bearings, with two window-type stamped steel plate cages, inner ring without ribs and with a guide ring guided by the inner ring

CA: 1, C-type of spherical roller bearing, with fork-shaped machined brass cage, ribs on both sides of the inner ring and a guide ring guided by the inner ring; 2, universally matched bearings, when its configuration is in back-to-back or face-to-face, the axial clearance is smaller than the normal group (CB)

CAC: CA type of spherical roller bearing, the guide of the roller has been improved.

CB: 1. universally matched bearings, when its configuration is in back-to-back or face-to-face configuration, the axial clearance is the ordinary group; 2. Double row angular contact ball bearings: it is designed with specific axial clearance.

CC: 1, C- type of spherical roller bearing, the roller guide has been improved; 2, the universal matching bearing, in the back-to-back or face-to-face configuration, the axial clearance is greater than that of the ordinary group (CB)

CLN: tapered roller bearings, tolerance zone with reduced ring width and total width in accordance with ISO tolerance class 6X

CL0: Accuracy complies with ANSI/ABMA 19.2:1994 standard tolerance class 0, used for inch tapered roller bearings

CL00: Accuracy meets ANSI/ABMA 19.2:1994 standard tolerance class 00, used for inch tapered roller bearings

CL3: Accuracy conforms to ANSI/ABMA 19.2:1994 standard tolerance class 3, used for inch tapered roller bearings

CL7C: used for tapered roller bearings, with special friction characteristics and higher rotation accuracy

CN: Normal group radial clearance; usually only used in combination with the following letters to indicate a narrow or offset clearance range

CNH: narrowed clearance range, equivalent to the upper half of the normal group clearance range

CNM: Narrowed clearance range, equivalent to half of the normal group clearance range

CNL: narrowed clearance range, equivalent to the lower half of the normal group clearance range

CNP: Offset clearance range, equivalent to the composition of the upper half of the normal group clearance range and the lower half of the C3 clearance range

CNR: Cylindrical roller bearings with normal group clearance in accordance with DIN 620-4: 1982

The above letters H, M, L and P are also applicable to the following clearance groups to form corresponding meanings: C2, C3, C4 and C5, such as C2H


CV: Improved internal design, full complements cylindrical roller bearings

CS: Nitrile rubber (NBR) contact seal ring with steel frame on one side of the bearing

CS2: A fluorine rubber (FPM) contact seal with a steel frame in the bearing

CS5: Hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) contact seal ring with steel frame on one side of the bearing

2CS: Nitrile rubber (NBR) contact seal ring with steel frame on both sides of the bearing

2CS2: Fluorine rubber (FPM) contact seal ring with steel frame on both sides of the bearing

2CS5: Hydrogenated cyanide rubber (HNBR) contact seal ring with steel frame on both sides of the bearing

C1: Radial clearance is less than C2

C2: Radial clearance is smaller than normal group (CN)

C3: Radial clearance is greater than the normal group (CN)

C4: Radial clearance is greater than C3

C5: Radial clearance is greater than C4

C02: Narrowed tolerance of inner ring rotation accuracy

C04: Narrowed tolerance of outer ring rotation accuracy

C08: C02+C04

C083: C02+C04+C3

C10: Narrowed tolerance of inner diameter and outer diameter

D: The internal design has been improved or slightly changed, and the external dimensions are the same. It usually has different meanings for different types or series of bearings. For example: 3310 D means double row angular contact ball bearing with split inner ring


DA: The improved stop groove on the outer ring and the split inner ring is fixed by a fixed ring

DB: Two (1) single row deep groove ball bearings, (2) single row angular contact ball bearings or (3) single row tapered roller bearings paired assembled by back to back. The letter following DB indicates the size of the axial clearance or axial preload of the paired bearing before installation.

  A: Light preload (2)

  B: Medium preload (2)

  C: Heavy preload (2)

  CA: small axial clearance (1, 2)

  CB: Ordinary axial clearance (1, 2)

  CC: Large axial clearance (1, 2)

  C: Special axial clearance, plus um as the unit number to express (3)

  GA: Light preload (1)

  GB: Medium preload (1)

  G: Special preload, plus um as the unit number to express (3)

For pair matched tapered roller bearings, there may be a two-digit number between DB and C or G to indicate the design and configuration of the spacer ring, such as 330224 J2 / DB31C250

DF: Two single row deep groove ball bearings single row angular contact ball bearings or single row tapered roller bearings that are paired face to face. The following letters of DF have the same meaning as that of DB.

DT: Two single row deep groove ball bearings, single row angular contact ball bearings or single row tapered roller bearings paired in series. Tandem matching installation; for a pair of tapered roller bearings, there may be a two-digit number after DT to indicate the design and configuration of the spacer

E: The internal design has been improved or slightly changed, and the external dimensions are the same. It usually has different meanings for different types or series of bearings. For example: 7212 BE means optimized internal design and single row angular contact ball bearing with a contact angle of 40°

EC: Single row cylindrical roller bearing, optimized internal design, equipped with more and/or larger rollers, improved contact between the roller end face and the rib

ECA: CA type spherical roller bearing with enhanced roller set

ECAC: CAC type spherical roller bearing with enhanced roller set

F: Machined steel or special cast iron retention, rolling element guide, there may be a number after F, indicating different designs or materials, such as F1

FA: Machined steel or special cast iron cage, outer ring guide

FB: Machined steel or special cast iron cage, inner ring guide

G: Universally matched single row angular contact ball bearings, two bearingspaired back-to-back or face-to-face, and have a certain axial clearance before installation


G..: Used to describe the grease used in the bearing, the second letter indicates the operating temperature range of the grease, and the third letter indicates a certain actual grease.

The meaning of the second letter is as follows:

E: Extreme pressure grease

F: Food compatible grease

H, J: high temperature grease, -20 to +130°C

L: low temperature grease, -50 to +80°C

M: Medium temperature grease, -30 to +110°C

W, X low/high temperature grease, -40 to +140°C

The digits after the three-letter grease code indicate the amount of grease filling that is different from the standard: 1, 2, and 3 indicate that the filling amount is less than the standard, and 4 to 9 indicate that the filling amount is more than the standard. For example: GEA means extreme pressure grease, standard filling amount; GLB2 means low temperature grease, filling amount is 15% to 25% of the free space in the bearing

GA: Universally matched bearings, with light preloaded in back-to-back or face-to-face configuration

GB: Universally matched bearings, with medium preloaded in back-to-back or face-to-face configuration

GC: Universally matched bearings, with heavy preloaded in back-to-back or face-to-face configuration

GJN: Polyurea soap grease, NLGI consistency 2, working temperature range at -30 to +150°C

H: Hardened clamp type of stamping steel cage

HA: Surface hardened bearing or bearing component, the number following HA indicates the specific part


0: complete set of bearings

1: Inner ring and outer ring

2: Outer ring

3: inner circle

4: Inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements

5: Rolling body

6: Outer ring and rolling elements

7: Inner ring and rolling elements

HB: Bainite hardened bearing or bearing component, the number after HB indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as that of HA

HC: Bearings or bearing parts made of ceramic materials, the number following HC indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as that of HA

HE: Bearings or bearing parts made of vacuum remelted steel, the number following HE indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as that of HA

HM: Martensite hardened bearing or bearing component, the number following HM indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as that of HA

HN: bearing or bearing component with special surface treatment, the number following HN indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as HA

HT: Used to describe the high temperature grease used in the bearing (operating temperature range from -20 to +130°C). Different from the specified standard grease but other greases in this temperature range, add a two-digit number following HT to indicate. The filling amount is different from the standard; it is expressed by a letter or a combination of letters and numbers after HTxx:

A: Less than the standard filling amount

B: greater than the standard filling amount

C: The filling amount is greater than 70% of the free space in the bearing

F1: Less than the standard filling amount

F7: greater than the standard filling amount

F9: Filling more than 70% of the free space in the bearing

For example: HTB, HT22 or HT24B

HV: Hardenable stainless steel bearings or bearing parts, the number following HV indicates the specific part, and the part represented by the number is the same as HA

J: Stamping steel cage, rolling element guide, not hardened, and then there may be a number to indicate a different design, such as J1

JR: The cage is two flat steel plates connected by rivets, without hardening

K: Conical bore, taper 1:12

K30: Conical bore, taper 1:30

LHT: Used to describe the high and low temperature (wide temperature) grease used in the bearing (operating temperature range from -40 to +140°C). A two-digit number following LHT indicates some kind of actual grease. The filling amount that is different from the standard is expressed by a letter or a combination of letters and numbers after LT. The code used is the same as that of HT. For example: LHT23, LHT23C or LHT23F7

LS: Contact seal with (or without) steel frame on one side of the bearing

2LS: Contact seal with (or without) steel frame on both sides of the bearing

LT: Used to describe the low temperature grease used in the bearing (operating temperature range -50 to +80°C). Different from the specified standard grease, other greases in this temperature range are indicated by adding a two-digit number after LT. The filling amount is different from the standard, it is expressed by a letter or a combination of letters and numbers after LT, and the code is used the same as that of HT. For example: LT, LT10 or LTF1


L4B: Bearing rings and rolling elements with special surface coating

L5B: Rolling elements with special surface coating

L5DA: NoWear -- non wear bearings, with ceramic-coated rolling elements

L7DA: NoWear -- non wear bearings, with ceramic-coated rolling elements and inner ring raceways

M: Machined brass cage, guided by rolling elements. Different designs and materials add digital logos after M, such as M2

MA: Machined brass cage, outer ring guide

MB: Inside-cut brass cage, inner ring guide

ML: Integral window-type brass cage, inner or outer ring guide

MP: Integral window-type brass cage, the opening is formed by milling, reaming or drilling, and the inner ring or outer ring is guided

MR: Integral window-type brass cage, rolling element guidance

MT: Used to describe the medium temperature grease used in the bearing (operating temperature range from -30 to +110°C). With other greases in the specified range, add a two-digit number following MT to indicate. The filling amount is different from the standard, it is expressed by a letter or a combination of letters and numbers after MT, and the code is used the same as HT. For example: MT33, MT37F9 or MT47

N: Outer ring with stop groove

NR: Outer ring with stop groove and stop ring

N1: A positioning groove on the outer ring

N2: The outer ring has two positioning grooves forming 180° each other

P: Injection glass fiber reinforced nylon 6,6 cage, rolling element guide

PH: injection molded polyether ether ketone (PEEK) cage, rolling element guide

PHA: injection molded polyether ether ketone (PEEK) cage, outer ring guide

P4: Dimensional accuracy and rotation accuracy comply with ISO tolerance level 4

P5: Dimensional accuracy and rotation accuracy comply with ISO tolerance level 5

P6: Dimensional accuracy and rotation accuracy comply with ISO tolerance level 6

Q: For tapered roller bearings, optimized geometric contact and surface treatment

RS1: Nitrile rubber (NBR) contact seal with steel frame on one side of the bearing

RS1Z: One side of the bearing has a steel framed nitrile rubber (NBR) contact seal, and the other side has a stamped steel dust cover

V...: Adding a letter after V is used to indicate a characteristic that is different from that of standard bearings, and adding a three-digit or four-digit number after V indicates its specific meaning. For example: VA: indicates a specific application; VB: difference in dimensions; VE: external or internal difference; VL: coating; VQ: quality and tolerance different from the standard; VS: clearance and preload; VT: Lubrication; VU: Various other characteristics

W26: Six lubrication holes in the inner ring

W33: Outer ring with lubrication groove and three lubrication holes

W33X: Outer ring with lubrication groove and six lubrication holes

W513: There are lubrication grooves and three lubrication holes on the outer ring and six lubrication holes on the inner ring

W64: Bearing without solid state

W77: Outer ring with lubrication groove and three lubrication holes with plugs

X: 1, the external dimensions are changed to the ISO standard; 2, the cylindrical rolling surface (roller bearing)

Y: Stamping brass cage, rolling element guide, and then there may be numbers to indicate different designs, such as Y1

Z: Stamped steel dust cover on one side of the bearing

2Z: Stamped steel dust cover on both sides of the bearing
