Application selection of bearing space and structure
In mechanical design, the size of the shaft is generally determined first, and then the overall design is selected based on the rolling bearings to be equipped and the permitted space around them. The selected bearing structure and size must be within this limit. Rolling bearing design has many standardized size series and structures, from which the most suitable bearing structure can be selected.
Generally, for shafts with small diameters, deep groove ball bearings are used. For shafts with large diameters, cylindrical roller bearings or tapered roller bearings should be considered. When the radial space of the machine is limited, use light and extra light series of bearings, such as double row ball bearings or double row roller bearings. When the axial position of the bearing is restricted, ball bearings or roller bearings of narrow section series or special narrow bearings are used.
