The structure of one-way bearing
A one-way bearing is a kind of bearing that can rotate freely in one direction, but is locked and stopped in the other direction. A one-way bearing is also called a backstop or an overrunning clutch. Its structure has a slope type and a roller type. And wedge type... The metal shell of a one-way bearing contains a lot of rollers, needles or balls, and the shape of its rolling seat (cavity) makes it only roll in one direction, and it will produce a lot of resistance in the other direction. . .
According to different purposes, its structure is also different. The structural design of one-way bearing:
1. Slope and roller design
Slope and roller type one-way clutches are basically composed of a cylindrical inner diameter outer ring, an inner ring with a slope, and a set of rollers that are always in close contact with the inner and outer rings and bear the spring force. As long as the rotation of one of the rollers in the direction of its raceway affects the other roller, the immediate overtaking speed is reached. This arrangement essentially ensures immediate driving capability.
2. Wedge design
The wedge-type one-way overrunning clutch is generally composed of an inner ring, an outer ring, a wedge block, a wedge cage, a powerful spring and a bearing. The wedges transfer force from one raceway to the other raceway by wedging between the inner and outer rings. The wedge has two diagonal diameters, (that is, the distance from one corner of the wedge to the other diagonal) one of the rollers has a larger diameter than the other. The action of the wedge occurs when the inner and outer rings rotate relative to each other, which forces the wedge to a greater vertical position on a larger cross section.
